Netball Warm Up Drills

It is vitally important that before beginning any exercise, you should warm up.

The aim here is to spend at least 10 minutes warming up and getting your muscles loosened up ready for training.

Netball Warm Up Tips

  1. Start by stretching your wrists, arms and upper body and then move on to your legs, back and core.
  2. Move on to a gentle jog – 3-5 times round the court should do it.
  3. You can also do shuttle runs by placing cones equally apart from one end of the court to the other. Players must run to the first cone and back to the base line and then to the second cone and back again to the base line and so on until the final run is from one end of the court to the other.
  4. Have a quick game of bulldog which is fun and gets the mood of players up. One player acts as bulldog in the center of the court whilst the rest must run from one side of the court to the other without being tagged. If tagged, that player too becomes a bulldog on the next run. Game ends when all players have been converted to bulldogs.
